Accra, Ghana
Dun and Bradstreet Credit Reference Bureau launched business operations in Ghana with a pledge to provide banks and customers with access to quality credit information.
The launch was held at Kofi Annan Center – AITA and was attended by Hon Seth Terpker, Minister – Finance & Economic Planning, Franklyn Belnye, Head of Banking Supervision at Bank of Ghana and senior officials from Bank of Ghana and the banking fraternity.
Credit Bureaus aim to enhance access to credit by providing credit information about borrowers. Also, they facilitate information-based lending and risk-based pricing, thereby aiding the financial sector in making informed lending decisions.
Evans Sarpong, Managing Director, said, “We would allow customers to access their own reports. So that when they go to the banks and for any reason the banks refuse them their credit reports; they can approach us and request the reports. We are not just serving the financial institutions but also the customers need to be aware in terms of having access to their report. " |
